I read an interesting little thing in the paper a few weeks back and wanted to make sure to pass it on to anyone who missed it. Apparently it used to be that anytime a Seattle resident wanted to plant anything other than grass in one of those spaces between the road and the sidewalk… they had to get a permit. Now they are letting people add veggie gardens without one! Landscaping still needs a permit but these are great spots to add a little raised bed to plant some veggies in so now you can! Free of fines that is… Enjoy gardening Seattle! – Heather
